As a long-term partner of Po Leung Kuk, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (“BOCHK”) has made an instant donation of HK$1 million amid the pandemic, enabling the Kuk to hand out anti-epidemic supplies to the needy in a timely manner. BOCHK had also recruited volunteers in two consecutive years to show support and care to grassroots families and the elderly. This year, volunteers from BOCHK prepared food packs with DSE candidates from the Kuk’s affiliated schools and distributed to grassroots families together. Volunteers from BOCHK also took the occasion to share latest information of the job market to the students as a life planning session, helping students in preparing themselves for studies and career development in future.

‘What impressed me most was the smiling faces that everyone put on as they collected the food packs. I’m glad to have taken part in this volunteering activity to help the grassroots families,” says Phoebe TSE, General Manager, Commercial Banking Department of BOCHK. “We have and will continue to support Po Leung Kuk’s initiatives to help the underprivileged and offer practical support to the grassroots so that the needs of our society can be addressed. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased that the Kuk has continued their effort to serve the community, also enabling our volunteer team to participate and distribute food and nutrition packs to grassroots families to help cope with their nutritional needs. This is something that we all find truly meaningful.’
