"Staying Resilient" Life

Donate Now!

Objectives

With funding support from the Hong Kong Centenary Charity Program of the Bank of China, the Bureau launched the "Strengthening through Adversity" life education program in kindergartens and kindergartens under the Child Care Services Department. The project is based on positive education and uses experiential learning to improve parents' positive discipline skills, thereby strengthening the ability of children and their families to face adversity, and allowing children to become more confident and independent children.

The Idea

Based on the concept of Train the Trainer, this program is committed to providing training for parents, allowing parents to become their children's coaches, creating a positive growth environment for children, and improving their ability to deal with adversity. The "Self-Strengthening in Adversity" life education program takes "morality, adversity, and positivity" as its three major directions to help children and their families build positive inner resources to enhance their ability to cope with adversity.

This project is based on the Six Elements of Happiness (PERMA-H) by Seligman (2012) and Norrish (2013). Through experiential group activities and individual parent-child training, it uses six major themes, including: hope, perseverance, gratitude, and enthusiasm. , teamwork, and self-regulation skills to cultivate children and their parents in various elements of happiness, thereby enhancing children's resilience.
