With funding from the Social Welfare Department, this center will establish an after-school care center for preschool children at Yat Tung Estate, Tung Chung, effective August 1, 2025.

 

Service Mission:

Po Leung Kuk provides a great variety of child care services to cope with dfifferent social and families' needs. Children can grow with their potential under our all rounded support.

 

Service Objectives:

The service aims at providing child care and support services for pre-primary children whose parents or carers are either working long, unstable and/or unconventional working hours, having financial and/or social hardship in securing care by their own means before/after school hours.

 

Target Service User:

(a) Children aged 3 to below 6; or

(b) Children attending Kindergarten 1-3 education

 

Service Capacity:

● Up to 18 children in each session

 

Opening Hours:

Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday and Public Holidays: Closed

Application Procedure:

Please submit the application form in person at the center during opening hours.

For Children:

- Escort service

- Nutritious meals and refreshments

- Tutoring

- Social/language games

- Gross and fine motor activities

- Self directed exploration play

- Music and artistic creation

- JELIC learning tools

 

For Parents and Parent-Child Interaction:

- Parent-child programs

- Parents' relaxation activities

 

Service Fees:

ASCP(PC) is operated by non-governmental organisations on a fee-charging and non-profit making basis with funding support from Social Welfare Department (SWD) providing child care service for children before/after school hours on a regular (bi-weekly) basis. Ad hoc service may be provided to needy children in case there is spare capacity. The fee charging level is determined by Social Welfare Department (SWD). Needy families with financial hardship may approach respective service operators direct for fee reduction/waiving. The fee level for different scenarios are set out in Table 1 and 2 below

Termination and withdrawal of Service:

- The service will be terminated when the children promoted to primary school.

- Service users who wish to withdraw from the service should notify the unit in advance.
