Post: Infrastructure Specialist

 

The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for supporting and managing IT operations, which includes assisting the helpdesk team and administering IT systems, components, and network infrastructure. The position also involves implementing IT infrastructure deployment projects and maintaining system performance, security, and reliability.

 

Working Relationship

 

Report to: Senior position and Infrastructure Manager

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Data Center and Remote Sites Operations:Support daily data center and remote site IT systems by monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting to ensure consistent performance.
  • Active Directory, Azure AD, Mailing, O365, Identity Management, Federation, IT Systems Support: Deliver backend IT support for identity management, account security, mailboxes, access, and cloud federation. Manage authentication and email infrastructure while ensuring security and compliance.
  • Endpoint Device Management and Antivirus Support: Use Endpoint Manager to securely set up and manage devices, support antivirus deployment and updates, enforce policies, and collaborate with security teams.
  • Systems and Helpdesk Support: Deliver comprehensive support for servers, backup systems, and network infrastructure, while also recording, analyzing, and resolving helpdesk calls.
  • Documentation, Hardware/Software Inventory & License Tracking: Keep detailed records of system setups, inventory, and maintenance. Track hardware and software assets, monitor licenses, and ensure compliance for efficient asset management.
  • Availability, After-Hours Support & Ad-hoc IT Duties: Off-site or after-hours work may be needed for IT support, projects, troubleshooting, and technical issues to minimise business disruption.

 Requirements:

  • High Diploma or equivalent education in Computer Science, or a related discipline, or above;
  • 5+ years of experience in the IT field with a focus on IT infrastructure and cloud services/products;
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, including but not limited to: network (such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, SSL, DNS, DHCP), Windows Server, AD, Identity design and operation, Exchange, VMware, M365, Endpoint management, and server/storage solutions;
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, presentation, and problem-solving skills are essential to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders;
  • Candidates should support cloud platforms (SaaS, PaaS) and on-premises systems. They must have experience managing, integrating, and troubleshooting both environments, ensuring seamless operation and efficient problem-solving; and
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE/MCITP, Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Exchange Server Administrator) are a plus but not required.
