The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust
In 2024, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (the Trust) launched several innovative programmes covering environmental protection, recreation and community support, to facilitate the development of the Kuk’s campsites. The Trust funded the Jockey Club Campsite+ Re-imagination Project, with the Kuk’s Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp acting as the co-ordinating body for the Sai Kung District. In collaboration with 3 other campsites, they pioneered “dual campsites” activities, allowing participants to visit 2 camps in a single day. During the period from October 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025, over 7,000 participants have taken part, with expectations of benefitting more than 10,000 people annually, thereby introducing a new model for campsite experiences.
Tai Tong Holiday Camp and Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp joined the Trust funded “Jockey Club SolarCare Programme”. By installing solar energy systems to enhance the camps’ renewable energy facilities. The Trust has also funded the 2 campsites in transitioning their existing vehicle fleets to electric vehicles, along with installing charging facilities, to reduce carbon emissions and enhance operational efficiency.
In support of the community, the Trust collaborates with the Kuk to jointly implement the “Jockey Club Food Assistance Programme”, providing immediate food assistance to families in financial difficulty through the innovative and human-centric Electronic Food Bank online food ordering platform.
