Since 2022, the Kuk’s Tin Ka Ping Youth and Families Development Centre has received funding from the Rotary Club of The Peak for the 3-year “The Flying Dreams IV” program, helping underprivileged children and young people develop saving habits and achieve personal goals. After completing 2 years of savings, the participants will receive matching donations and bonus grants. 10 volunteers from Rotary Club of The Peak act as mentors, supporting young people’s growth and helping them set development plans. The programme is now in its third year, and has demonstrated a significant impact on improving participants’ saving habits. All mentees have completed their 12-month savings goals, with 70% using their savings for personal development, and 90% of mentors maintaining monthly contact to collaboratively formulate development plans.

 

 

In June 2024, “The Flying Dreams IV” program organised a volunteer outreach activity titled “Hundred Acts of Kindness.” Participants, including mentees, mentors and volunteers, visited elderly residents living alone in Queen’s Hill Estate and delivered Dragon Boat Festival gift packages. The event was also supported in person by Mr. MA Ching Nam, BBS., CStJ., JP, Charter President of the Rotary Club of Peak and Chairman of Po Leung Kuk (2019–2020) (1 s t f r o m l e f t , b a c k r o w ) , a l o n g w i t h Mr. Ronnie HO, President of the Rotary Club of the Peak (1nd from right).
