Educational Psychologist II (0.5)

A)  Overall Role

Po Leung Kuk Education Affairs Department has launched a positive education project for three years (2024-2027) to promote positive education in PLK affiliated secondary schools. As part of this initiative, the Educational Psychologist Team will provide professional service for the participating schools and coordinate with school personnel regarding related matters.

 

B)  Major Responsibilities

Training

  • Conduct training, such as delivering talks and workshops, for teachers, non-teaching staff, parents and students

Consultation

  • Provide consultations with school heads, teachers, and other school personnel to embed positive education in the schools' policies, curricula, and activities

Material Development

  • Develop materials with other members of the Educational Psychologist Team for the schools to utilise in promoting positive education

Monitoring & Coordination

  • Attend Steering Committee meetings with other members of the Educational Psychologist Team to discuss the project implementation and progress with representatives from Po Leung Kuk, the schools, and the funders
  • Conduct regular reviews to monitor the implementation at the participating schools

*   This duty list is subject to review periodically and additional duties would be included if the post so requires.

 

C) Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology from a local university or equivalent qualifications is needed
  • Obtained full membership of the Division of Educational Psychology of the Hong Kong Psychological Society or an equivalent status in an internationally recognised professional organization of Educational Psychology or been eligible for such membership pre-employment
  • Knowledge of Positive Psychology and experience in secondary school setting is an advantage
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
