Responsibilities

  • Assist the Curator in the daily operation and administration of the Museum;
  • Supervise and conduct guided tours for guests, groups, schools, and the public as needed;
  • Assist in the planning, content development, production, and installation of exhibitions;
  • Plan, organise and implement educational and public programmes such as workshops, lectures, and online activities;
  • Manage the Museum's social media platforms and supervise content creation and digital outreach;
  • Manage the museum's collections and archives, including cataloguing, acquisition, and documentation work;
  • Support academic and research activities, including assisting scholars in accessing archives and historical records;
  • Supervise historical research and collection activities, including oral history interviews and acquisition of internal and external archival materials;
  • Supervise the preservation, conservation, and restoration works of museum artefacts and archival materials;
  • Coordinate with external conservators and relevant professionals when necessary;
  • Supervise and coordinate museum facility maintenance, equipment and furniture procurement, and museum-related renovation projects;
  • Establish networks with external organisations and partners whenever necessary;
  • Assist in handling emergency or ad-hoc operational matters as required.

 

Requirements

  • Possess a recognised university degree, preferably in History, Museum Studies, Cultural Studies, Anthropology or equivalent;
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in cultural sector;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua;
  • Mature, self-motivated, organized, strong interest in promoting local culture;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in both English and Chinese word processing, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Possess skills in social media management and multimedia editing for promotional and educational content will be an advantage.
  • Recognised academic training relevant to heritage conservation will be an advantage.
