Environmental Education in the academic year of 2009/10

  • Recycle paper box in the classroom:
    There is a recycle paper box in each classroom. Single-side printed papers were collected. The back side of the papers were used for rough work.
  • Recycle box design competition:
    It is an inter-class competition. Each class designed a recycle paper box using environmental friendly materials. The attractive outlook of the boxes encouraged students to use them.

  • Pupils sign environmental friendly contract
    Environmental friendly rules were discussed and set up by P4 to P6 students. Each class signed a contract to implement the environmental protection practices.
  • Environmental friendly ambassadors
    One environmental friendly ambassador from each class was elected to be responsible for the environmental protection activities like switching off the fans and lights before leaving the classroom, turning off the air conditioners when they are not in use.

    We participated in the activity "Love our planet – collection of moon cakes and moon cake boxes". It was organized by the Hong Kong Community Development Network. Pupils brought back their left-over excess moon cakes and used moon cake boxes after the Mid-Autumn Festival. Staff from the Hong Kong Community Development Network came to our school to collect them. Moon cakes were sent to food banks and distributed to those in need. Moon cake boxes were then recycled.
