1979

Systematic management and categorization of PLK historical records commences.

1984

Opening of the Archives department at PLK headquarters on 8 March. With the addition of an adjacent room in the following year, the section begins actively preserving PLK's historical records.

1996

Relocation of Archives to the PLK main building and the addition of new exhibition halls to house a greater number of archives.

1998

The Po Leung Kuk Archives opens to the public for free access on 19 January.

The Po Leung Kuk Archives receives an Award of Merit under the category of Community Heritage Awards in the Hong Kong Heritage Awards 2001 competition, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Antiquities Advisory Board and the Antiquities and Monuments Office.

The Po Leung Kuk Archives is renamed Po Leung Kuk Museum on 23 May. The Museum continues its active research, acquisition and categorization of PLK's historical documents and memorabilia.
