“Reading Scheme” for Affiliated Schools 2010-11

In order to further promote reading culture in affiliated schools, to encourage students to read more and to support affiliated schools’ reading programmes, the Kuk organized the “Reading Scheme” for affiliated schools in 2009-10 as an extension of the “Naming of Books” project implemented for a number of years.

The scheme was greatly supported by affiliated schools and parents with 90 affiliated educational units joined the scheme. This year, the total amount of donations raised by the participating schools reached $1,203,047.8, and the Kuk also provided matching fund of $893,492.4.

The donations received by individual schools would be fully utilized for purchasing books, organizing reading promotion activities, enhancing library resources and facilities, as well as conducting library renovation work. To show appreciation to the donors for their generosity, their names will be posted on the books purchased by their donations.

The Kuk would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the participating schools and donors for their active support. Names of the donors and books are listed as follows:
